There are some things that are just PERFECT for the travel fanatic in your life. Read on for our top 10 great gifts for travel lovers.
All prices were correct at time of writing (March 2021) and all opinions are my own.
Passport Wallet
We love our Passport Wallet, it’s big enough to store Passports, Boarding Passes and tickets but small enough to tuck into a backpack and not take up much room.
Knowing that everything is in one place and safe is a real lifesaver and for any frequent traveller, this is a must have.
Ours is similar to, but not the same, as this one linked here – the size is the important factor for us, it needs to be able to fit 4 passports, tickets, and so on. The sizes do vary so be sure of what your preference is.
Scratch Maps
We were SO excited when we got our first Scratch Map and there’s lots of different varieties available now. The idea is simple, just scratch off the Countries or places you’ve visited! Bear in mind most don’t come framed, so you’ll either need to select that option if it is one or do it yourself. We framed ours with an IKEA frame, and left the perspex out so we can scratch easily.
These are some of the ones I’ve found that look excellent:

Packing Cubes
THE Packing hack of the moment, Packing Cubes have been heralded as a game changer in the holiday packing world. They keep things separate so you can pack for each person, or by item of clothing. And they are a great way of keeping clean and dirty clothes apart.
These look lovely, and are really well priced at £9.99, from Amazon.
Toiletry Bag
One thing that I always seem to have a lot of when I travel, is toiletries and medicines – both of which can benefit from a place to keep them. There’s loads of different options out there but the key things I would look out for are:
- Size – I travel with full sized shampoo’s etc as 4 of us need to wash our hair. So the bag needs to be big enough to fit these in. Too often I find them just a tiny bit too small.
- Pockets – A variety of different places to put things within the bag is very helpful. Otherwise you can gaurantee that the thing you need will have worked its way to the bottom!
- Durable – toiletries have a tendency to leak. So having a toiletry bag that will wipe clean and not stain is really handy and keeps it looking good for longer.
These look like they would be great:
Superdry Toiletry Bag £12.50 in the sale (usually £24.99)
H&M Large Wash Bag £12.99
Not on the High Street Extra Large Wipe Clean Cosmetic Bag £16
Reusable Water Bottles
Resuable Water Bottles have been growing in popularity over the past few years and for good reason, 500 billion plastic water bottles are used each year – so going reusable is extremely good for the planet.
It is also really convenient to have your own water bottle to hand whilst out and about. We find them invaluable for our children (as they are constantly asking for a drink!) There are loads of lovely ones on the market now. Below are some of my favourites.
- Chillys Water Bottles £25
- S’Well Water Bottles £17.50 – £31 depending on size
- ProCook Lifes a beach water bottle £14
Portable Luggage Scale
Our portable luggage scale is invaluable and the traveller in your life would love this gift. With such a variety of different weight limits for different airlines, different routes or different transports it can be hard to know if you’ve over or underestimated your packing. I find I always go over on a certain piece of luggage as it’s big and actually weighs too much when it’s full!
We actually have a very cheap luggage scale which works perfectly and there’s loads of options out there. This is the bestselling one that Amazon stocks.
Quick Dry Towels
These are a bit revolutionary in the travel world where space is so often at a premium. As well as saving that precious space, they also mean you don’t have to move wet towels around with you – ideal after a day at the beach or if you are on the road daily. It also won’t collect the damp odor smell that is so horrible on towels.
Theres a gorgeous range on this website starting at £18.
This is a best rated microfibre towel from Decathlon and it looks great for a low price of £11.99.
This one also looks good and is a best seller on Amazon. Again at a great price of £11.99.
Selfie Stick
I think selfie sticks actually get an unfairly negative press. We have found ours SO useful, especially for getting all 4 of us in the photo. They work particularly well if you are trying to get yourself as well as the view into the photo at the same time.
They don’t cost the earth, and for us, are just one of many photography aids we have for our travels.
This one is what we have, it’s compact and easy to use. A complete bargain at £12.99.
Portable Charger
We bought our portable charger when we started our Blog and YouTube channel as we knew we’d be filming and taking photos a lot when we were on holiday. Whilst our phone batteries are good, they will be drained by the end of a long day out so a portable charger was a great purchase.
They are small enough to pop in your bag and ours can be charged via USB. Our Charger holds 2 charges (this does vary depending on what phone you have). A portable charger is fantastic, and a great gift for a travel fanatic!
This is the one we have and I recommend it.
Travel Guides and books
I’m still firmly in the ‘hard copy Guide Book’ camp for when we travel. I love to sit and read it while we’re away exploring places to visit and things to see. Whilst your phone and the internet is good for maps and up to the minute advice I really like the hard copy books and will continue to do so for a while yet I think.
There are a large range of travel guides out there but Lonely Planet is probably our favourite, with DK Eyewitness as a close second. However Amazon stock a huge range.
There are also loads of gorgeous books out there on all things travel. Books written by travellers themselves, books focusing on particular types of travel such as Adventure travel or ‘100 places to see before you die’ type books. If you can think of it, you can probably find a book written about it.
