AirBnb Villa Review – Crete

We stayed in this 3 bedroom villa in the east of Crete in April 2024. It was around 1.45hrs from Hereklion which is one of the airports on the island. However, we flew into Chania Airport which was 3 hours away.

We visited right at the beginning of the tourist season which we like to do as firstly, it’s cooler (temperatures were around 20-25c the week we were there), and its cheaper and quieter!

The design and décor was slick and modern which we love and it was sparkling clean. The Villa Of the Hill has a light and spacious open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen.

The living room, while small, had two comfy sofas, a Smart TV and satellite, air conditioning, and a fireplace.

The open kitchen area has has a breakfast bar and a host of appliances that include a 4-ring stove, oven, dishwasher, freezer, fridge and toaster. The villa had 2 double bedrooms and one single, with a sofa bed for additional guests. The bedrooms have private balconies, TVs and air-conditioning. There is one ensuite bathroom in the single bedroom, plus another shared bathroom.

There were plenty of towels, toiletries, bathrobes, and a hairdryer. A cleaner came midweek and the owner was there daily to clean the pool.

The outdoor area is huge, with more space than we knew what to do with. There’s a terrace attached to the villa with seating and a place to dry clothes and then a large pool area with sunloungers and umbrellas. Next to this is a grass area.

Up a few steps is the covered outside kitchen which has a large dining area and 8-seater table. Next to this is a sofa and chairs overlooking the view, this was one of our favourite places to sit.

The last area to mention is probably my youngests favourite in the whole villa, the childrens play area! We’ve stayed in villas with play areas before but nowhere near as nice as this one. It also had a picnic table for the grownups to sit at whilst they supervised.

Exterior Area:
– 32 sq. m. private swimming pool (heated for a fee).

– outdoor dining tables under shadows with views to the pool
– Different places to relax under a shade or under the sun along with sun beds, umbrellas, dining tables or exterior sofas
– Children’s playground
– Private parking spaces
