Should you stay at an Airbnb when visiting Disneyland Paris? Our experience.
As an avid traveler and Disney enthusiast, our visit to Disneyland Paris was nothing short of enchanting. You can read more about it here, and also my advice on what to pack here. Thanks for coming to read Should you stay at an Airbnb when visiting Disneyland Paris? Our experience.
After some deliberation, we decided to stay in an Airbnb in nearby Val D’Europe instead of onsite, and we were really pleased with our decision. Below, I will explain why.
- Homey Atmosphere: Airbnb accommodations near Disneyland Paris offer a homely ambiance that can be hard to find in large hotel complexes. The cozy and personalised feel of an Airbnb instantly makes you feel like you’re staying in your own home, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere to return to after a day of adventures in the park.
2. Cost-Effective Accommodations: One of the most appealing aspects of choosing an Airbnb for us was the cost savings. Disneyland Paris hotels can be quite pricey, particularly during peak seasons. An Airbnb often provide more affordable alternatives without compromising on comfort or convenience. This allows you to allocate your budget towards other magical experiences within the park. We had a MUCH bigger place to stay (ideal when travelling with children) than the same price would have got us at an onsite hotel.
3. Great Location: Our Airbnbs location was near Disneyland Paris was in a lovely local neighbourhood. This offered us the opportunity to eat in the massive Val D’Europe shopping Mall in the evening, and shop at the local supermarket for snacks and drinks (and cheaper Disney souvenirs!).
4. Flexibility in Amenities: Airbnb listings come in various shapes and sizes, allowing you to choose accommodations that meet your specific preferences and needs. Whether you desire a cozy studio, a spacious family home, or a quaint cottage, you’ll be able to find it on Airbnb. This flexibility extends to amenities as well, with many Airbnb hosts offering fully-equipped kitchens, private pools, and other perks that may be limited or come at an additional cost in a standard hotel room. We opted for a medium sized 3 double bedroom house in a gated community. It had a large living, dining, kitchen area and plenty of space for our belongings.
5. Close to Disneyland Paris: Our Airbnb was a 17 minute flat walk to Disneyland Paris. This is not dissimilar to some of the onsite hotels! Our security queue to get in to Disneyland Paris was substantially smaller than the main one that comes from the hotels, which I considered a perk! There was also a free bus to a hotel next door if your legs were tired after a long day.
In conclusion, while Disneyland Paris hotels offer the allure of staying within the magical realm of Disney, opting for an Airbnb near the park can provide a cost-effective, more spacious, and equally amazing experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to do it again and in fact, are booked to stay at a Villa near DisneyWorld Florida in 2024 – we will let you know how that goes!
