The Ultimate Disneyland Paris Packing List
Planning plays a key part in a successful trip to any Theme Park, and even more so when it’s a huge one like Disneyland Paris. So what is The Ultimate Disneyland Paris Packing List? Read on for everything you need to know. This post includes affiliate links.
Must Haves for Disneyland Paris
There are certain things you will need whatever the weather at the Disneyland Park. My top MUST HAVES are as follows:
- Comfortable Back Pack. You need something that will be comfy carrying all day, yet big enough to store everything you will need. Backpacks with plenty of pockets are often a good choice to keep things separate and organised. This one from Amazon fits the bill, it looks stylish, is very reasonably priced and has good reviews.
- Snacks. It is expensive to eat in the park. Whilst there are some lovely snacks to have once or twice whilst you are there (think Mickey Waffles or Disney Cake Pops), if you have these every time your children want something to eat, firstly you’ll spend a fortune and secondly you’ll spend all day in queues for food. A bag of easy to access snack packs is a good idea. You will inevitably be in long lines with hungry children on more than one occasion.
- Comfortable walking shoes. Disney Theme Parks are huge and we walked in excess of 11,000 steps each day in the park (some days up to 16,000) and you are on your feet almost constantly. Uncomfortable shoes could simply ruin your day. I wore warm boots, and everyone else wore trainers. These are similar to the ones I wore and my feet thanked me for it!
- Face Mask/Covering. At the moment (November 2021) it is compulsory for all people age 11+ to wear a face mask at all times within the Disney Parks. Because you’ll be wearing them a-lot, take a few with you and if you can select ones that you know are comfortable to wear. There’s some really lovely Disney themed face coverings on Etsy. I’ve also linked to lots of great Disney themed options on Amazon here.
- Drinks. We took a drink each into the parks which lasted us most of the day. Again it saves time and expense to have your own drinks. This would be especially important in the hot summer months. We have always used these reusable water bottle for our children and still use them a lot now for out and about. Here are a selection of some great Food and Drink storage for out and about, or back at your hotel room or Apartment. We did not notice any water fountains in the parks, these are likely to be off at the moment due to Covid-19.
- Tissues, Wipes and Hand Sanitiser Pretty standard additions to a bag for most parents, and as simple as they sound they do make it easier to wipe a nose, clean a dirty surface or ensure your hands are sanitised without relying on the parks facilities. Check out our list here of things to consider when traveling during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Other things you may wish to take into the Park
- Phone/Camera You would not want to miss out on the chance to get a photo of a cast member (they, including Mickey Mouse, pop up everywhere!), or the iconic snap of Main Street with the Castle in the background.
- Picnic Lunch During our disney trip we chose to have sandwiches for lunch and eat out for dinner. There are plenty of benches all over the Park to sit and eat. You are not allowed to bring in hampers or chairs. Having some of your own meals with you not only saves you money, but it also saves you time as you don’t have to wait to be served or in a queue.
- Sunscreen. Fortunately alot of the queues are covered which helpful during hot or wet weather. But you could easily be out in the sunshine watching a parade or walking around so sunscreen is a must.
- Rain Ponchos or Waterproof Jacket/ rain jackets. You really don’t want to get soaked in wet weather so suitable wet weather gear is a must. It’s also worth considering what you’d wear on any water rides!
- Simple first aid kit. Plasters, Calpol, Paracetamol, lip balm and so on. Especially if you have younger kids who might take a tumble or feel unwell. Take a look at this list here for ideas of what to take with you.
- Portable Charger/ battery pack. We really wish we’d taken ours with us. The app drains phone battery and obviously you’ll be taking loads of photos! There are phone charger points in Videopolis which we didn’t realise until after we left. Here is a list of Portable Chargers as well as other things parents or other adults might find helpful to take with you.
- Spare Clothes If you have small children then a spare set of clothes would be a good idea.
What to wear in the Park
What you wear in the Park can make the difference between enjoying your day or having it ruined by being uncomfortable. Check the weather forecast before you travel and pack accordingly! Be prepared for lots of walking, potential blisters, getting too hot or too cold or wet if it’s rainy.
- Comfortable shoes – regardless of the time of year this is essential. I’d advise against wearing new shoes as they might rub and cause blisters.
- Wear layers – even in the height of summer you might want to take a cardigan or shawl for the evenings. Children especially feel the cold/heat so give them lots of options. A lightweight packable jacket is a good option if it’s warm but rain is possible.
- Comfortable clothes – I can’t emphasise this enough. Comfort is key! Trousers that fall down or a top that keeps slipping will drive you mad. Wear something you know you can happily wear all day. Wearing an extra layer, or at least having one in your bag would be good for cooler evenings. If you are going in the Winter months then gloves, hats and scarves will make being outside most of the day much easier for the whole family.
- Mickey Ears (of course!) – Not everyone wears them but I loved wearing mine (as did the girls) and loved seeing all the different ones available. The ones at Disney apparently cost a small fortune so to avoid that extra cost, some of the best places to purchase ahead of time are Amazon, Etsy or Ebay. These also look really great when you manage to get a photo with the disney characters!

I’d add Disney themed clothes especially for children – buy ahead in Primark or other lower cost shops and bring them with you if you don’t want to spend a small fortune on Disney clothing! We did splurge on some hoodies at the park which were good quality and 5 years later are still being worn!
Thats a brilliant suggestion! I was so tempted by some of the clothes there, they are lovely. Then I went to the Primark in Val D’Europe and they had loads similar for a fraction of the price (don’t know if they’d last as long though!
