For the past few years we’ve loved donning our welly boots and heading out to hunt down the best pumpkin to display at home. But Pumpkin patches are about far more than just picking pumpkins. They can include activities such as pumpkin carving, hook a duck, coconut shys and shows.

Crockford Bridge Farm, Addlestone

Where is it?

New Haw Road, Addlestone, Nr. Weybridge, Surrey KT15 2BU

What is it?

One of Surrey’s largest growers of Pumpkins, Crockford Bridge Farm are renowned for the high quality of crop which is harvested by hand every year.

Pre-harvested Pumpkins are available for sale every day from mid October from the Pumpkin Market. Unlike many other farms, Pumpkin picking from the field only happens on selected days. There is also a Pumpkin Festival.

Pumpkin Picking at Crockford Bridge Farm:

There is Pumpkin Picking every day from the Saturday 30th Sept – Sunday 15th Oct (closed on Mondays).

The Pumpkin Market is open from 17th October, customers visiting the Farm or the Pumpkin Festival can buy a pre-harvested pumpkin here.

Cost and other details

£4,50 per person except under 1’s who go free. The value of your voucher is taken off the cost of your pumpkins at the exit till.

Take your own carrier bags to take your pumpkins away.

There are a limited number of Wheelbarrows to borrow but you can take your own cart.

Dogs are not allowed into the fields for hygiene reasons.

Buggies aren’t allowed in the fields, they can be left at the entry kiosk.

Tickets are non refundable and under 1’s go free with a paying sibling. No dogs permitted.

What is there to do at the Pumpkin Festival?

  • Pumpkin Carving and decorating area.
  • Fun Games!
  • Thousands of Pumpkins and Squashes
  • Photo Opportunities, Pumpkin displays and arty installations
  • Ice Cream Parlour, Tea Shack and pop up food (tbc).

There is also a large Garden Centre and Cafe next to the Farm.

Other Information

On their website, here, there is a regularly updated map of the current crops and where they are. The area is huge and driving is advised. There is a one way, signposted, route all the way around and parking available at each crop.

There is a large Garden Centre and Cafe with play area next door as well as an extensive Farm Shop.

Tulleys Pumpkin Farm – The UK’s No.1 Pumpkin Festival

Where is it?

What is there to do there?

Tulleys Pumpkin Farm have either day time or night time tickets. With a total of 20 acres of pumpkins, they produce around 150,000 pumpkins. There are numerous photo opportunities (30 infact!) as well as loads of amazing pumpkins to buy.

23-24 Sept, 30 Sept-1st Oct, 7-8th Oct, 13-29th Oct.

Day Time tickets:

  • Adult – General Admission- 14+ from £6.00 to £8.00 (Free car park, Daytime access to the PYO fields and photo opportunities)

Under 2’s go free.

Open from 10am-5.30pm.

No dogs allowed into the PYO Pumpkin Fields or public areas – for health and sanitation reasons.

Other Information

There’s lots going on during the week including a Fancy dress competition, a decorated walkway to the Pumpkin Field, Biscuit Decorating, Glitter Tattoos and a Carousel.

There is hot and cold food, much of which has a pumpkin theme – from pumpkin soup to pumpkin cake! The menu looks quite extensive and details can be found here.

There is also a Farm Shop and Tea Room. Parking is free and plentiful.

Summary

Pumpkin Patches are good fun and great for getting in the Halloween spirit. Plus they are great for photos! Remember wellies, as it can get muddy and wear clothes appropriate for the weather and you’ll have a fantastic time.

Also, from years of going to these things, the earlier the better – the best pumpkins go quickly and if you go on the last day (which we have done before!) it’s much harder to find a nice one.
