7 days in South East Cornwall
Welcome to our ultimate guide to 7 days in South East Cornwall! We spent a wonderful week here in April 2021 and instantly fell in love. From stunning villages, quiet beaches, a fantastic Airbnb and brilliant activities close by, it met and exceeded all our expectations. As we left I said to Dave ‘I wonder if we can do a month long stay here one day?’ – that’s how much we enjoyed it.
What will follow will be the highlights of our visit with lots of suggestions for how to make your week full of fun and memories.
Our Airbnb in South East Cornwall
We stayed in this wonderful Airbnb in a remote part of South East Cornwall, near Liskeard. Our Airbnb was in a fantastic location for all the sights in the area, but tucked away in the Countryside away from any hustle and bustle. It has been lovingly restored by the current owners and you can tell it’s been made with so much care and attention. If you’d like to find out more about it, check it out here. We paid £771 for 6 nights in the Easter Holidays which was really reasonably priced for what you get.
We did a little drone video about the Airbnb which you can watch below!
Polperro
Potentially one of our favourite places that we saw in South East Cornwall (although there is fierce competition) Polperro is a stunning little village. With parking just on the outskirts, the village itself is entirely car free. A maze of beautiful fisherman’s cottages surround the stunning harbour. The water has to be seen to be believed and there is a small beach at low tide just by the harbour wall. Be sure to walk up to the headland to get the view below back onto the village and harbour.

Looe
The lovely town of Looe was about 10 minutes south of our Airbnb in South East Cornwall. It’s a little treasure trove of small independent shops and restaurants, a gorgeous harbour and a pretty beach.
The town is split into two sections, East Looe and West Looe. In East Looe you will find the main town and sandy beach. Wonderful facilities, independent shops and safe swimming – it has everything you need for a lovely seaside trip.
Head to West Looe and you will find the rugged Hanneford Beach. We had a wonderful couple of hours rock pooling here, finding teeny tiny crabs and fish in pools left at low tide.

Llama Lland
(Ad-Gifted) Whilst strictly speaking not in South East Cornwall, Llama Lland was an easy drive through beautiful Countryside (50 minutes from our Airbnb) near Truro.
Llama Lland offers wonderful half day experiences where you walk the brilliant Llamas and then return to the farm for lunch and a cream tea. For more information check out our full review here . For prices and more, check out their website here.
Adrenaline Quarry
Adrenaline Quarry is a brilliant place to spend a day when you’re in South East Cornwall. It was a short 20 minute drive from our Airbnb, or a 10 minute drive from Liskeard.
There are so many options at Adrenaline Quarry you are completely spoilt for choice. We opted for the Aqua Park but you could go for the Zip Wire (the longest in the South West), Go Karting, Axe Throwing or more! To read our full review check our blog post here.
Talland Bay
Talland Bay is situated between Polperro and Looe on South East Cornwalls south coast. We had Talland Bay recommended to us by a couple of people prior to our visit to South East Cornwall, and we’re so pleased we visited. A gorgeous hidden beach down a tiny road it was a fantastic place to spend a few hours.
There is limited parking and on busy summer days I imagine it gets quite full so arriving early is key. The beach itself is large at low time and theres plenty of shallow water and rock pools to explore. For our full review of our visit to Talland Bay, click here.
There are good facilities with a cafe, toilets and seating.
Golitha Falls
Golitha Falls are a series of spectacular cascades and waterfalls along a section of the River Fowey as it makes its way through the woodland of Draynes Wood. It is one of the best known beauty spots on Bodmin Moor.
We found it easy to park and walked for an hour exploring the beautiful, serene surroundings of these gorgeous falls. The amount of water varies throughout the year, and depending on rain fall. There were some fantastic points for paddling and some really fun rocks and roots to climb over. For our full review click here.
