The magic of J.M. Barrie’s timeless tale comes to life at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking for this year’s Christmas Panto. The Peter Pan pantomime transports audiences to the enchanting world of Neverland, with stunning sets, great songs, amazing costumes, and a star-studded cast. Thank you for coming to read Peter Pan Pantomime at New Victoria Theatre, Woking – A Review.
Anton Du Beke leads the roll-call and was superb, and of course, he did a bit of dancing which wowed the audience. Paul Chuckle, who I’ve seen in panto before and was thrilled to see back, was absolutely brilliant. He has a natural ease about him that catches the audiences hearts and let’s not forget, he’s very very funny. Archie Durrant, who played Peter Pan was a ball of energy and had some exceptional dance moves and a brilliant singing voice. I also loved the gorgeous Wendy (played by Chloe Riley) and roller skating Tinkerbell (talk about skills!), played by Georgia Brierley-Smith.
The set design was a visual feast, seamlessly transitioning from the Darling family’s nursery to the whimsical landscapes of Neverland. The vibrant colours and clever staging, including flying sequences that truly brought the characters to life, contributed to the enchanting atmosphere. And let’s not forget the scene with the Crocodile – my daughter was left open-mouthed (as was I!).
The script, which is funny and clever, traditionally Panto but with modern touches, and full of fun songs had the audience participating wholeheartedly. It includes lots of well-known Pantomine laughs and games that involve the audience.
In conclusion, the Peter Pan pantomime at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking is a dynamic and entertaining journey to Neverland. The cast’s energy, the creative set design, and the clever script combine to create a magical experience that will be cherished by audiences of all ages. Don’t delay, get your tickets today!
