Santa’s Magical Gift – A Review

Thank you for coming to read Santa’s Magical Gift – A Review.
Rhoda McGaw Theatre is a 228-seater theatre adjacent to the bigger New Victoria Theatre in Woking, Surrey. We often go to see smaller productions there that are usually aimed at younger children, or children for whom the bigger theatre might still be too big (or overwhelming). The shows are usually shorter, and because of the size of the theatre, you feel very involved in the production which is lovely.
This Christmas ‘Santa’s Magical Gift’ has come to town. It’s a 50 minute show about Holly and Trixie, who are two of Santa’s elves and their busy days leading up to Christmas. Holly reveals Lapland’s biggest secret, that once a year Santa sends a magical gift to one person who deserves it the most. Much to Holly’s surprise she is chosen to receive the gift this year!
What follows is a message about what Christmas is really about, with lots of fun songs, interactivity and laughs thrown in. My 6 year old was belly laughing and fully invested for the entire 50 minutes.
There was a chance for some children get on stage (and some grown ups too!) and some interactivity with the audience as well.
Once the show is over, each row is invited to see Santa one by one for a photo and a chat. Then each child receives a gift (which my daughter loved). A brilliant way to spend a few hours, I would highly recommend it!
